Production Notes 100% of our 2018 Chardonnay was harvested from our estate grown River Junction vineyard located at the confluence of the San Joaquin and Stanislaus Rivers. The grapes for our 2018 Chardonnay were harvested between August 13th - Sept. 20th, 2018 with an average Brix of 24.0. The wine was cold fermented in Stainless Steel and filtered prior to oak aging. Approximately two thirds of the wine was allowed to go through Malolactic Fermentation to further add to the complexity of the wine.

Our blend is 95% Chardonnay with a small amount of Chenin Blanc added for aromatics.
Winemaker Notes The 2018 McManis Family Vineyards Chardonnay is light golden straw in color.

A lovely tawny yellow colour with a light green tint. A complex bouquet which combines varietal qualities (hazelnut, toasted bread)
with tropical fruits (pineapple, grapefruit) and the smoky tones imparted by the oak casks.
Full and creamy on the palate, well developed and with fresh acidity which leads to an extraordinary finish,
long and balanced, accentuated by toasty notes.

Beschrijving: Intens gekleurde citroengele wijn. Zuiver en intense aroma’s van rijpe appel, eik, boter en roostergeuren geven aan deze wijn zijn elegante en complexe structuur. Zijn elegantie wordt nog versterkt door een aangenaam zuurtje in de finale. Uitzonderlijke prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.

Our 2018 Sonoma County Chardonnay is a light golden color with aromas of fresh apples, citrus and nectarine. The palate is rich yet crisp, with flavors of apricot, baked peaches, lemon and vanilla. Undertones of apple butter and toast are met with balanced acidity and a smooth finish.

 We hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed the grapes, and then racked roughly half of the juice into barrels for primary and malolactic fermentations. The remainder of the fruit was tank fermented at cooler temperatures to preserve the bright fruit and firm structure. After fermentations, the wine was aged in 21% new French, Hungarian and American oak barrels.

De neus geurt naar bloemen, perzik en een delicate hint van vanille. De aanzet is romig en delicaat met elegante, verfrissende en mineralige tonen.

Oogst
De oogst geschiedt volledig manueel halverwege de maand augustus.

Vinificatie
Koude schilinweking en alcoholische fermentatie in vaten van Frans eikenhout. De wijn rijpt na de alcoholische fermentatie nog 4 maanden "sur lie".

Lekker bij
De wijn past goed bij voor- en tussengerechten van vis en schaal- en schelpdieren. Ook erg lekker bij kazen.
